Y-3 teamed up with Virgin Galactic, the first commercial space line, to design apparel for the operations team, pilots, and future astronauts at Spaceport America in New Mexico. The pioneering brands started to forge an intersection of fashion and space, underpinned by a shared approach to design and innovation. To promote the collaboration we launched a social campaign.

The challenge was to create an exciting launch moment in social media to announce the Y-3 Virgin Galactic partnership to international media in the fashion, design and innovation industries.

INNOVATION

Global social media and PR activation to announce the futuristic Y-3 Virgin Galactic partnership with photography and a collaboration film created at the world's first commercial spaceport in New Mexico.

IMPACT

Balmain begun designing for Singapore Airlines in 1968. Y-3 is the first brand designing for a commercial space travel brand. Global PR and Social Media coverage of the story created worldwide brand heat and fuelled the innovative power of Y-3 and Virgin Galactic.
